PBA: Blockbuster trade switches Paul Lee and James Yap

The biggest trade at the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) just happened a few days ago and it’s about time we got used to it.

Probably the biggest trade for 2016 in the country’s biggest basketball league, James Yap and Paul Lee have begun training with their new teams.

James Yap, who has been part of the Purefoods Star Hotshots his whole career, graced his first practice with his new teammates from Rain or Shine Elastopainters.

As for Paul Lee, he has also begun training with his new team. Which team, you ask? Purefoods Hotshots.

The blockbuster trade took the PBA Nation by storm, and the two players are no exception.

Yap, who spent almost 13 years in the Star Hotshots franchise, took his emotions in social media. It can be recalled that James Yap will soon be retiring and his wish was to end his career wearing a Hotshots jersey.

Yap’s longtime teammate, Marc Pingris, was among those who were affected by the surprising trade. The two have shared a grandslam championship in the PBA back in 2014.

Meanwhile, Paul Lee, who’s probably still processing his coach Yeng Guiao’s transfer to the Nlex Road Warriors, reminisced his recent championship with the Rain or Shine Elastopainters.

And he even shared a few photos of him wearing a Star Hotshots jersey

The two are now embracing their new teams and are now preparing for the next season. It’s a lot to take in for us PBA fans, but no story is complete without a huge plot twist. We are definitely looking forward to the Star Hotshots – Rain or Shine match up next season.
