TITA IN MANILA: 6 CONDO LIVING TIPS FOR MILLENNIALS

Is this your first time renting your own pad? Well, don’t worry!

Aside from practical reasons, all of us know that as part of the adulting stage, we at some point have to consider renting our own space (and being away from the fam for a while *sobs*) near school or workplace because we have to try going out of our comfort zone, to rely on our own decisions, and to discover more possibilities that lies ahead of us.

That’s why, our dearest titas, it’s time to flaunt your frugal skills, be carefree, and maximize that constricted budget and space with these practical living tips!

Go multi-purpose

We’re only given a small area to work at so it’s definitely a space (and money) saver to look for sofa beds, table doubled as a storage box, or any other multi-purpose furniture in classic colors that are chic yet low-maintenance.

Share it with your bestie

Our allowance or salary does not amount to six figures each month so paying for all the utilities and rent alone will definitely make our savings go bankrupt. Sharing the room with a best friend or friends, as long as you guys can fit, is a fun way to split all the bills (plus, more BFF bonding moments!)

Conserve electricity and water

Your mom and pop always tell you to save electricity and water at home. Now, all you have to do have a fuss-free condo living is *drumroll*…the same ol’ advice. Set the air conditioner in the right amount of temperature (or use an electric fan), use a tabo, and unplug all appliances when not in use. *lights off*

Plan your gastronomic adventure

Living without the ‘rents will be easier if you know how to cook proper meals (and that does not mean cooking instant noodles). Make a grocery list, search for easy to cook recipes, and limit eating fast food to stay stuffed in a healthy way.

Make a checklist

Remember when you forgot to bring your toothbrush so you went to the nearest convenience store to buy one? Well, that will not happen again if you make a list of your belongings, especially the home essentials such as broom, dishwashing liquid, and bath items, to keep your room in tip-top shape.

Stick to the rules!

The rule of thumb: read and abide by the contract and building policies at all times. Also, you should always make it a point to maximize the use of free facilities (if there’s any) and pay the rent on time to stay you out of the trouble and breeze through a comfortable condo life.

We hope these tips are helpful for you in achieving the ultimate tita life! Happy condo living! *winks*
