UAAP: It’s Blue vs. Green for the basketball crown

In case you guys missed it, the UAAP community will have a new champion for the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Last Wednesday, the Ateneo Blue Eagles dethroned the Far Eastern University Tamaraws in the very first overtime game for the season, 69-68.

Ateneo escaped an almost buzzer beater winning shot by FEU’s Ron Dennison – who shot the ball a little too late.

The Blue Eagles is set to meet the De La Salle Green Archers – who finished the elimination round with a 13 – 1 win loss card and defeated the Adamson University in the semi – finals.

The rival schools last met in the championship match in 2008, where ADMU brought home the gold and began its 5 peat championship streak under then head coach Norman Black.

Meanwhile, DLSU’s last championship was in 2013 – after defeating the UST Growling Tigers.

The two are set to meat in their first ‘Dream Finals’ game tomorrow, December 3, at the Mall of Asia Arena. Photo from the Philippine Star.
