How lovely it is to be finally alone in the bathroom—no queues, no loud gossips, and no girl pack retouching in the mirror.
Yay for you…but suddenly, your alone time comes to an end.
While you’re peeing and enjoying the silence of the night, you’ll probably hear footsteps outside the cubicle. You can feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Something strange is happening, you thought. Then, you’ve heard a faint “Psstt..” above and you know at that moment all the stories are true. You probably won’t get out unscathed.
If you are from Lyceum Manila, then you probably heard of Uyayi.
Uyayi, a tagalog word which means lullaby, is a ghost that wanders through the walls of 4th floor girls bathroom of Lyceum of the Philippines-Manila. It loves to disturb other people while they’re peeing and scares them. Now, we don’t know if Uyayi is a young boy or a girl. Others said that it is a ghost of young boy, a child of a Lycean janitor.
Nevertheless, we know that it is scary and spooky! Whenever you hear a “Psst..”, Uyayi might be there, watching you pee.
So watch out and be on your guard always, Lyceans!
