Top 4 Youtube channels where you can find awesome live performances

With all the music streaming services available today (Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music), we have the access to lots of music of different genres and artists. However, we all sometimes need some raw, live music. This is where we can turn to something that’s just been here all the time–good old Youtube.

There are many channels in the land of Youtube that feature live performances from artists, be it up-and-coming, or famous. Through these channels, you can not only listen to your favorite artists perform live, you can also discover new music to add to your playlists.

To save you time in searching for those channels, I have round up four Youtube channels that feature awesome live local and foreign performances:

Stages Sessions

Stages Sessions is a “live and digital concert”. Located here in the Philippines and joined Youtube in August 2015, it prides itself in providing up close and personal performances to the audiences, setting it apart from their featured artists’ mainstream performances. Also, they don’t only feature musicians, but also artists that do spoken word performances and the like.

Here’s a taste of what you can watch at Stage Sessions:

BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

Okay, this one is actually a playlist from United Kingdom’s music radio station, BBC Radio 1’s Youtube channel. Live Lounge is a segment that features artists sing their own songs or cover other artists’ songs and have their own spin of it. Artists like Miley Cyrus, Usher, Justin Bieber, The 1975 and Bruno Mars have performed on this widely popular segment.

Watch Bruno Mars’ performance of Adele’s All I Ask (which he co-wrote!):

Tower of Doom

This channel features live performances of up-and-coming and established local bands such as Kamikazee, Typecast, Moonstar88, Up Dharma Down, and many more.

A well-loved rock band, Typecast, performed some of their songs in Sagada for Tower of Doom’s Campfire Sessions:

NPR Music

National Public Radio is an American media organization that owns over 900 radio stations all over the US. Its music counterpart, NPR Music, features different live performances in different settings: NPR Music Field Recordings (recorded at random places), NPR Music Front Row (performances in concerts), and NPR Tiny Desk Concerts (musicians perform at the NPR Office).

You can discover so many good foreign artists through this Youtube channel. I know I did.

Here is British indie folk band Daughter’s Tiny Desk Concerts performance:

Explore more music with these Youtube channels! Thank me later. *wink*
